Hun Ling: Avatar of the Life Giver, I FINALLY Got You Now!

I love my Hun Ling ,™Kurenai™ even if I had to go through of doing quests from level 1, I must say it doesn't matter to me anymore not until yesterday. Getting my Avatar of the Life Giver or also known as Salvation was easy peasy when I played PWI, probably because everything was translated well but for the life of me, acquiring Avatar of the Life Giver wasn't an easy task for me to do in PWPH.

When I thought that Awakening of the Guardians was released with no flaws or at least near to perfection, we were bombarded with quests which are either not translated or can't be read in the quest log (literally).

For the benefit of my co-Hun Lings out there who hasn't received their Avatar of the Life Giver or currently doesn't know where to get it, here are some information that hopefully will save you from some pain in the arse.

Perfect World: Clan Headquarters

As mentioned in my previous post, one of the best feature that Awakening of the Guardians (AoG) expansion will bring is the Clan Headquarters. Since PWI already have this since last year (geez, we really had to wait that long), I assume that the guide I found will work for Perfect World PH (I've taken some notes from PW PH's Official Site). It would take me some time to customize this guide to fit for the local version, I have this feeling it's either the name of the places and stuffs will be Chinese related, so for now stick with me.

So what does a clan headquarter do for the players?

The features and benefits of a clan headquarters include providing quest, selling gears, items, and potions, providing helpful buffs and being the battlefield. Woohoo!

To Create a Clan Headquarter:

• Must be the Master of a Level 3 Clan. (Speak with the Clan Administrator at Dragon City (595 665) to raise your Clan Level if you have not yet done so)
• Must have 1 Clan Headquarters Deed in your inventory. You can purchase a Clan Headquarters Deed from the Clan HQ Administrator.

The Clan Headquarters Deed costs:

 • 500 Mysterious Chips (Obtained from Mysterious Chip Packs and various in-game events)
 • 20 Perfect Vouchers (Trade 10,000,000 Yuan for one Voucher at the Bank Owner)
 • 2,000 Thousand-Machine Parts (Crafted using 5 Polished Lumber, 5 Tempered Steel, 5 Grindstone Powder and 5 Anthracite)
• 500 Misty Emblems (Obtained from monsters in the Misty City)

Important note: The Clan Headquarters Deed cannot be traded, dropped or placed in Account Storage, so make sure that the Clan Master is the character who crafts the item.

Basic Clan Headquarters Information

1.) HQ Level and Construction – Shows the Clan HQ’s current level and the amount of construction points currently invested. Once enough construction points are donated, the Clan Master can click the Upgrade button to increase the Clan HQ’s level.

2.) Resource Count – Shows the amount of resources currently invested. Resources are used to construct and upgrade Clan facilities.

In a later patch, Clans can attack each others’ HQ in order to pillage the resources within.

3.) Clan Technology Levels – Shows the investment of technology points. Each facility has a Technology Aspect prerequisite. You will need to raise that Aspect in order to construct higher-level Facilities.

Awakening of the Guardians, Wake up Now!

I've been playing Perfect World for more than 3 years now and like any other game, Perfect World launched several awesome patches that makes the players enjoy and support the game even more. For the past few months, Level Up! Games have been promoting the new expansion "Awakening of the Guardians". In the Perfect World International version, it's known as "Genesis". Awakening of the Guardians (AoG) will feature a new race - Earthguard, two new classes: seeker and mystic. Several areas and dungeons will be opened and new gears and guild bases will be available for all the players.

My Mystic with my ever reliable pet that buffs increased defense and absorbs damage for its caster.
The Mystic or better known as Hun Ling (Druid) is a magic-user. She has the ability to cast nature-based auras and summon powerful entities to assist her in combat. She is adept at focusing nature’s nurturing energies to heal and assist her allies. Hun Ling’s can be male or female.

The Seeker or better known as Jian Ling (Blademaster) focuses natural energies through sword forms to become a versatile fighter. His weapon can be infused with various arcane powers, which, in combination with heavy armor, makes him a fearsome force on any battlefield. Jian Ling can be male or female.

Geeky Earrings: Piranha Plants

I love earrings specially dangling and those geeky earrings that has a game theme. One awesome lady created Piranha Plant earrings made of polymer clay. If you're an avid fan of Super Mario, the Piranha plants are familiar to you for sure. They may look like they are chomping on your ear lobes but there's a metal post hidden in their mouths.

Poké Balls: Gotta have em all!

Pokémon, who doesn't know this video game/cartoon? The adorable Pikachu, Squirtle and other friends of Ash. Most of the kids know them for sure and apparently some guy from DeviantArt is too awesome that he created Poké Ball artworks. For those who are not aware what a Poké Ball is, it is a spherical device used by Pokémon Trainers to capture wild Pokémon and store them when not active.

I seriously want these artworks in real life *drools*

Naruto, are you there?

Global Gutz n' Krocodile Grill to fill our guts

Last Oct.29, our group decided to do some outdoor activity and thanks to Cash Cash Pinoy, a group discount site, we were able to purchase vouchers worth Php 250 each for a PaintBall adventure at Global Gutz. This includes 40 bullets and if you can't get enough (I bet you can't) you can purchase additional bullets for Php 100.

We opted to go to their branch at CCP and the place technically is just an open field with barrel of drums and walls that serves as your "shield" during the game. We were advised that they have a shower room and lo and behold, they did have but it's not as pleasant as you think it is. It's more of a bathroom with drum filled with water which I dunno if there's a monster lurking somewhere in the deep and there's no electricity (after 6pm). So much for their advice. Well, I haven't been into their branch at the Fort and the way it was advertise, I guess The Fort is much better.

We arrived there around 3pm and we had to wait for the group who came early to finish their game. The equipments amazingly doesn't smell that bad at all. The bullet hurts like hell when it touches your bare skin but the adrenalin rush, sweat and fun was all worth it.

Since we were all dead hungry, we decided to grab some food and continue the bonding moment at Krocodile Grill, Greenbelt 3. We planned to drink and eat our hearts and guts out. For a Saturday night, the crowd was pretty fair. The place is ideal for eating and drinking plus the prices was fair enough.

A Perfect World Wedding: All things becomes possible in game

Weddings, ah who doesn't dream of having one? Ever since Perfect World launched this feature, several players have already attended the wedding ceremony. Some of the couples are partners in real life, while some are I guess still in the "mutual understanding" stage or just simply partners in crime. Well, some things in real life can be done in-game and vice versa and one of them is to have a wedding. Nonetheless, this wedding video gave me an idea what I want for my real life wedding minus the ex-boyfriend gate crashing:
Pretty cool huh? So, if you're planning to wed with your partner in-game just follow these steps:

What's building in Cityville?

Zynga has launched a new addictive game in Facebook called Cityville and it's been the latest craze for the past 3 months since I started. At first, I was not interested in playing it since I believe it's like the other game like Farmville, Frontierville, Social City etc. What made me decide to play it merely out of a gamer's curiousity.

The thing I liked about this game is the combination of Zynga's games. You get to own a city, build several types of houses and businesses which will give you collectibles in exchange of energy, goods or random items and coins to purchase more stuffs for your city. You also get to farm crops and send ships to obtain goods for your businesses.

Unlike other Facebook games which gets boring in a short span of time, Cityville will give you several quests almost every week and everytime you level up. The quests are normally easy which will just require a few clicks and requests from your Cityville neighbors and Facebook friends.

Last week, they had a theme "St.Patrick's Day" where you get to own shops, decorations, do quests related to St.Patrick's. I'm not yet done with the quests and they released a new quest again which is related to ballet.

Since Cityville has released several awesome updates, I'll be discussing the latest news one at a time and my own experience with it, so bear with me :)

Till my next post!

Game Fashion: Devil Trigger Set and Backstreet Set

It's been several months since I've posted in-game fashion. Perfect World already released several cool fashions including headgears or in simplier terms - WIG. I'm not really a fan of wigs since I find it too pricey but when PW released the Devil Trigger Set, I couldn't resist the urge to buy it!

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm not the type who buys the set as a whole. I prefer to mix and match items. Here's how the set looks like:

What's Baking in Baking Life?

Baking Life is like any other Facebook application created by Zip Zap Play. If you are familiar with Cafe World, Restaurant City, Baking Life is similar to them but this time it's purely pastries. One thing that I like in Baking Life  is that you don't have to worry about the performance of your employees and you don't have to block the door if you want to close your bakery (I'll explain more about this later)

Apparently, Baking Life is one of the FB applications that Amity Clan is addicted to. I dunno who among them started this craze but one of them made a point. Unlike Farmville, Baking Life won't take too much of your time. Among the other games related to cooking/management stuff, you can sleep or logout without worrying if your "business" is going down the drain.

THE YUMMY PASTRIES!
The menu ranged between 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, to 22 hours and days. Seriously, just by looking at the pastries it makes me crave for them. Take a look!

Dusk Adventures: Chapter 1: Soul-Calming Hymn

Basically, if you want good equipments for your character Dusk Palace is the best place you can hunt materials for your armors, weapons, accessories. You can either go there in Solo Mode or Party Mode which can give you better materials to craft your goodies. For you to open the instance, you need Thousand Machine Parts (TMP).

Since Jez and I have our own Tideborn characters a Wu Shi (~TequiLa~) and Xi Shou (blaklabel) which are both level 77 now, we decided to make them a level 80 set. I guess, my Yu Ling was deprived of this set when she was still a lowbie so I'm giving all the luxuries to Teq.

So to give you a background how it looks like in Dusk 1-3 (Chapter 1: Soul-Calming Hymn - Valiant), here are the screenshots.

To begin with, here's the map of Dusk Palace. I dunno but for some reason it's no use at all since you can't find your exact location in the map (all maps on dungeons are like that, so I don't get what the map is for if you have to guess which part of the place you are)

Gaming Food : Instant Noodles

Noodles. No, make that INSTANT noodles. As a gamer who rarely finds time to even stand up and pee, finding food to munch while committing minor crime on the keyboard and mouse is something that one should make an effort. Who would like pressing the hot keys with grease all over their hands? And like the reminder in Perfect World's patcher: Pay attention to your health. Eating will definitely make you live longer.

Before raiding a dungeon, you prepare potions, charms, amulets, pills and anything that will help you survive the instance. Like a real battle, you can't go on to the battle field with an empty stomach. So it's nice to stock instant foods on your pantry and when I say instant, it means NO cooking.

I like 'em hot!  Lucky Me and Nissin should give me credits for this.

Out of the popular instant noodles, I saw that Yakisoba is the ideal brand that would take away at least 3-5 minutes of your precious gaming time. All you need is a cup of hot water, throw in the fake veggies, noodles then cover for 2 minutes. Drain, pour the seasoning, mix and you're all done.

Now go back to your raiding, kiddo.

In a Perfect World...

I mentioned that I'm an online gamer too. At first, I didn't have plans to play this long, it was just a simple "okay-I'll-give-it-a-shot-game". My first job was buying MMORPG accounts and I feel like a noob whenever the seller says something about trinkets, tiers, clan etc. That was too much information overload for me who doesn't have an idea what they are talking about. So there, I convinced myself to play an online game, the big question: What game?

Then, Coilfang (his IGN) an officemate recommended to me, Perfect World. He said it's like World of Warcraft, but catered to Asians and it's Free to Play. Great! No monthly dues, perfect for my budget. I didn't have a computer back then, I had to rent in a computer shop (Php 15/hr).

So for newbies out there. The first thing you need to do is to have a Level Up Account (LU Account). You can create one by going here. Set up everything there, like a normal account registration. Once everything is set, your next step should be: INSTALL the game. Now, this can be way lot easier if you have a DVD installer or anyone who owns one. But if you have no choice, you can download it.
